Wings Back in Motion: NSGT Soarin’ Returns to the Skies

Filed by Skydrop Quillfeather, Cloudbase Correspondent

Today marked a vibrant return to action for NSGT Soarin’, leading his first training session since a long break—and what a comeback it was!

Cadets and bolts from all ranks gathered for a high-energy evening that mixed classic Wonderbolts discipline with a few memorable hiccups, laughs, and heartwarming camaraderie. With a new map under their hooves and fresh wings in formation, the session kicked off with a warm welcome from Soarin’ himself.

“I’m locked in to give y’all some good training,” he said confidently—despite humbly admitting to a little rust. What followed was a dynamic mix of warmups, formation drills, relay racing, and a surprise mini classroom session, all while the team navigated coordination challenges and colorful PTSs.

🏃‍♂️ Warmups, Color Chaos, and Camaraderie

The warmup round sparked a lively debate over what carpet color matched which workout—push-ups, sit-ups, burpees—you name it. Cadets chimed in to set things straight while keeping spirits high. Fleetfoot, Dash, Tulip, and others helped realign routines, reminding us all that teamwork starts before the first flight.

🛫 The Mare Do Well Formation

Once wings were up and uniforms zipped, Soarin’ introduced the Mare Do Well formation, coaching fliers through red (straight), yellow (down), and blue (up) tile maneuvers. Some bolts on mobile experienced a few turbulence patches, but Soarin’ and the rest of the team gave them space and encouragement. “We want smoothness when in a formation,” he said—proving again that precision and support fly hoof-in-hoof.

🏁 Zoomies and Racing Spirit

The relay race saw Green and Orange teams soar neck-and-neck, with Orange ultimately taking the victory in the final heat. Dashie’s keyboard nearly took flight on its own, and Chilli’s mobile WiFi gave everypony a lesson in aerial adaptability. But teamwork and good humor prevailed.

📚 A Quick Class Wrap-Up

Due to time constraints, Soarin’ concluded the session with a rapid-fire classroom quiz about WBA medals and their meanings. Bolts answered eagerly, and even amid jokes about locker rooms feeling “like a church,” the learning was real and shared.

This wasn’t just a training—it was a testament to the Wonderbolts spirit: adaptive, supportive, a little chaotic, but always uplifting.

Soarin’s rust? Shaken off.
The team’s mood? Sky high.
The verdict? Training: Success. Mission: Accomplished.
